Share your views to help find a laser safety solution

FIA Council members have been have been in conversation recently with a representative from the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC's) Laser Safety Committee. 

The committee's working group that covers free space and optical fibre communications systems is currently reviewing an issue that will be up for discussion at the next meeting of the committee in Berlin on October 13. 

The committee will be looking at the classification of certain products and is looking for industry views about whether products such as transceivers and optical amplifiers, which are components of fibre communication systems, should be given formal international safety standards classifications. 

The Laser Safety Committee is keen to hear as many opinions as possible, so if you wish to put your views forward, please complete the form below.
