Nigel Hedges joined Fluke Networks in 1997, and has worked with installer and end-user customers using both copper and fibre test and certification equipment ever since. A longterm member of the team at Fluke Networks, Nigel revels in customer interaction, awareness enhancement, and problem-solving.
The company’s close interaction with world standards development bodies has provided opportunities to evangelise the ‘correct’ method for proving fibre performance and bandwidth availability, rather than merely the myriad ‘quick and dirty’ solutions available.
Nigel believes that growing demand for, and usage of, fibre optic technology in areas of our industry, continue to provide opportunities both to learn and to educate. Growing awareness of challenges in the installation, operation and maintenance areas where fibre is deployed, are driving a need for change, both in attitude and in practice, in our industry.
Nigel expects to be able to contribute positively to assisting that change, through the auspices of the FIA.
