Stolen Equipment Register
We have reinstated the Stolen Equipment register. We aim to publish the details of stolen equipment in order to assist members in recovering their equipment should the worst happen.
The register can be found here. It can also be found on the homepage.
Details required in order to report stolen equipment include the date stolen, Serial number of all items, full description and most importantly, the crime record number. There are links to allow you to report stolen equipment, and also to report that you have been offered stolen equipment.
IET NHS Document
‘Building Infrastructure for Healthcare ICT (Code of practice sponsored by the NHS, published by the IET)’
We reported in our February Newsletter that this document was about to be published, but was delayed. We have an update from IET – ‘the pdf of the ICT code should be available in the coming weeks. The NHS have of course been focussed on COVID-19 and so the launch activity will happen later this year’.
The above document has had full FIA input. Members will be advised once the document is published.
The document covers the benefits not only to healthcare organisations but also to cabling installers, consultants and others in the industry.
BSI Affiliation
FIA is a BSI Affiliate – meaning that anyone visiting the FIA website can click on the link to the BSI website, and any purchase made of standards, in either paper or electronic format, results in a small payment being made from BSI to the FIA (at no cost to the purchaser).
The BSI link on the FIA website (bottom of the FIA home page) goes directly to the BSI page where members can purchase standards.
If you are buying a standard document, even if your company is already a member of BSI, please use the FIA website – because the FIA receives a small percentage of your purchase price – and any discounts you normally receive will also be applied.
Technical Support Guide Access
Members who wish to see or download the “members only” Technical Support Guides can do so by clicking on the link here.
NOTE: Any FIA member can share their news via this Newsletter. Send all input to the Secretary, jane@fiasec.co.uk (New email address)
