EXTENDED STANDARDS SERVICE


The FIA provide two separate schemes to support its members with information relating to standards.

 


The Standards Forum lists the current standards in the field of optical fibre technology and, possibly more importantly, allows access to the latest drafts of standards. Comments to these draft standards can be made to the FIA Technical Director and will be addressed by the relevant UK, European or international standards body

All Corporate Members are able to access the Standards Forum area using their User IDs and passwords.


The Extended Standards Service is an optional service available at additional cost to UK Corporate Members of Category B and C.

ESS Members have access to an information source which covers standards activity in all the aspects of design, installation and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructures which the FIA directly or indirectly support. This extends beyond optical fibre into balanced and coaxial cabling technology.
