The FIA Approved Training Provider Scheme underwrites the level
of infrastructure offered by a fibre optic training organization.
Approval requires the following: the organization
to be an FIA Corporate Member and shall comply with all applicable
health and safety regulations; free access
to be given to an independent FIA official to assess that the approval
criteria have been met and are being adhered to; all training
courses delivered by persons competent and qualified in the delivery
of training and technical aspects of fibre optic installation; procedures
for the maintenance of documentation systems relevant to training
delivery and student assessment
The Scheme covers
TWO levels of provider: Level 1
- a Training Provider working from a fixed location; Level 2
- A Training Provider working without a fixed location.
Where a training provider
is able to meet the requirements for approval to both Levels 1
and 2, then dual approval can be granted.
For approval as a Level 1 or Level 2 Training
Provider, the FIA accepts the following external (i.e. non-FIA)
Approval Schemes as a basis for FIA Approved Training Provider status: City &
Guilds 3666 Vocational Scheme
