APPROVED INSTALLER DATABASE

The Approved Installer Database is supplied to each FIA Approved Installer and takes the form of a simple Access database into which is recorded the status of each project they undertake.

Upon completion of each project, the Approved Installer is required to submit the record-keeping i.e. the contents of the Approved Installer Database for that project via e-mail to the FIA. Any additional features (including commercial data) and non-relevant installation records will have to be stripped out before the data is provided to the FIA .

LOCAL AND ON-LINE ASSISTANCE

The database is of course useful but the real power of the AIS is the on-line and local assistance files which provide expert guidance to each of the elements within the Approved Installer Database.


The content of the Approved Installer Database is not specific to optical fibre - but covers all telecommunications cabling addressed by
BS 6701:2004.
