The FIA exists to promote high standards of service within the fibreoptic industry. To support this we have developed a wide range of Technical Support Documents and invested heaviliy in top-end schemes including an:
AIS (Approved Installer Scheme)
Approved Training Providers Scheme
personal Qualification Scheme

In addition the FIA has been directly involved in a huge standardisation effort at UK, European and international level in order that customers and suppliers can enter into contracts with confidence in relation to roles and responsibilities.

However, the FIA is keen to support the provision of services that, for whatever reason, have not been subject to the rigour of these approaches. To that end the FIA have developed a series of 'Barebones Requirements"' documents to help customers to avoid pitfalls in supplier selection and poor working practices.
